How does the OTPF influence (guide) OT practice?

The OTPF has given us a guideline for everything we do as occupational therapists.  It illustrates the "top-down approach" which basically states that we look at a client's occupation first, then look at the challenge or disability they face.  The OTPF lays out what our scope of practice looks like; it describes what we should be looking for when trying to identify occupations and the client's challenges that are associated with these occupations. It also describes the steps we should be taking when providing services to our clients.
